New Genuine Nissan Rear Window Molding Fastener. Correct late style original unit used to secure the rear window molding on R32 2-door models such as GTR, GTST and GTS-4. Used on R32’s made from 10.1990 till end of production. This unit is found under the window moldings and is often confused for being part of the window moldings itself. It is a critical separate part that should be replaced and not included in the rear window molding set. Typically cracked and adhered to the body, these are most likely a unit that can not be used again in original form once pulled off the car. Replacement is highly recommended when removing the original window moldings.
This late style incorporates the use of an additional locking clip on each end (see pictures). The purpose of the redesign was for added fitment and can be used on earlier R32’s made before 10.1990. Terra Firma also carries the correct earlier and much rarer model for GTR’s made before this redesign. Very hard unit to get in the US and a must replace parts when doing rear window molding replacements.
Questions & AnswersAsk a Question
Is this the retainer price that goes in before you replace the actual rear window outer trim piece?Hi, yes, that is correct. This is the unit under the outer window molding you see. Thanks for your question!
Do they make front windshield molding fastener?
Hi, here is the link to that part. Thanks!
How is this secured to the body?
Great question! This original factory fastener has a peel-and-stick 2-sided tape backing already adhered to the part. Make sure your window channel is clean and free of debris in order to get the best contact. Rarely, do you get more than one attempt to get this in, so we do recommended professional installation if possible. Thanks!
