Water and grit in a Z32 front knuckle usually start at a missing or crushed kingpin cap. That stamped cover sits on top of the kingpin bearing in the upright. Once it is dented or left off after a bearing job, the race packs with road film and the steering gets notchy. Two caps are required—one left and one right.

The Genuine Nissan Front Axle Kingpin Cap is the factory upper dust cap. Install a new cap whenever the kingpin bearing is serviced; the old one rarely survives removal intact.
