Developed from pure racing technology, the FX850 system features an 8.5” (216mm) Twin Disc clutch designed to hold tremendous horsepower and torque while maintaining reasonable pedal pressure. Initially created for engines and transmissions with smaller bell-housings, the FX850 is ideal for both high-performance street applications and track use. By increasing the clamping force of the pressure plate and expanding the square inches of usable disc area, the FX850 significantly boosts clamping rates with an average of a 50% increase in pedal pressure depending on the application.

The cover assembly of the FX850 is machined from billet aluminum and then Type 3 hard anodized, giving it roughly 25% more tensile strength than competitors' cast units. By eliminating flex in the cover, which can reach up to .030” in cast or stamped units, our billet covers exhibit only .003” of flex. This rigidity ensures that all movement applied to the diaphragm of the clutch from the throwout bearing is used solely to engage and disengage the clutch, enhancing driver control and consistency. The FX850 Twin Disc can be upgraded to the DLX series. In the DLX series, both discs are inherently dampened by directly connecting a rigid disc to the disc with the sprung hub, allowing any shock load to transfer through to the dampened hub. This setup works exceptionally well for daily-driven cars with high horsepower and race cars needing extra protection from drivetrain shock.

This innovative system incorporates three spring-loaded bolts that allow the pressure plate to engage and disengage evenly and smoothly, significantly reducing internal clutch noise and chatter by up to 50%.
