A late S15 with a dead horn, steering-wheel controls that stopped working, or an airbag light that stays on is usually the spiral cable, not the bag itself. The clock spring is the flexible ribbon that keeps power to the airbag and horn while the wheel turns. When the internal tracks break, those circuits open. Early and HICAS cars use different units, so the wrong cable will not plug in or will leave the system in fault.
The Genuine Nissan Steering Wheel Air Bag Spiral Cable (part number 25554-5V026) is the factory clock spring for late Nissan Silvia S15 models without HICAS. One is required. It is the wire assembly that sits between the column and the steering wheel and restores continuous contact for the airbag, horn, and any wheel-mounted controls. It fits late JDM S15 Silvia (non-HICAS, from approximately October 1999 onward) and matching non-HICAS S15 200SX cars. It is not the early S15 spiral cable and it is not the HICAS / 4WS version.
At Terra Firma Automotive we supply this genuine Nissan S15 late non-HICAS spiral cable so the airbag circuit, horn, and wheel controls work again without guessing which clock spring the car needs. Choose Terra Firma Automotive for authentic Nissan steering hardware built for the S15.
