This OEM fan coupling assembly is used on the JDM Fairlady Z and USDM 300ZX Twin Turbo (VG30DETT) models to control the radiator fan’s engagement with the engine’s water pump. The viscous-type clutch adjusts fan speed based on coolant temperature, ensuring efficient engine cooling under high-heat or high-load conditions. A worn or failed fan clutch can lead to overheating, reduced performance, or excess accessory drag. Replacing the fan coupling maintains proper airflow through the radiator and protects the engine during spirited driving or track use. This component is specific to Twin Turbo Z32 applications and is not used on naturally aspirated models.
